  • Job Description

    The accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions.  Maintains the general ledger, fixed asset system, the capital expenditure analysis and variance reports, general ledger reconciliation, and budget variance reports.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Manages portions of the month end close process, consolidation and preparation of internal and external financial reports and assistance with the annual external audit.
    2. Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information at a detailed level.  Provides an unparalleled attention to detail when working with all transactions.
    3. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies. Interact with other departments to provide proper internal controls over their reporting to third party customers.
    4. Works with third party vendors to reconcile accounts and properly record company activity.  Report on this activity in a concise, timely manner so that all records are kept up to date.
    5. Provides a general support role to employees regarding financial information.  Works with third parties to obtain employee specific financial information.  Helps to maintain a strong internal control environment that facilitates appropriate financial reporting and legal compliance.
    6. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. 

    Requirements

    EDUCATION COMPLETED:

    Bachelor’s, or higher, degree in Accounting or Finance or three (3) to seven (7) years of equivalent work experience.

     
    BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:

    Background in accounting for healthcare related companies preferred. Big Four experience preferred.

     
    APPLICABLE EXPERIENCE:

    Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting systems.
     

    COMPUTER LITERACY:

    Demonstrate advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, graphs and database software. Experience with Workday preferred.
